JANSEN CN RAIL SPUR
CN constructing a new 47 km long rail spur connecting the BHP Jansen potash mine with CN’s Watrous Subdivision in Saskatchewan.

Project Information

On July 27, 2023, the Canadian Transportation Agency authorized CN to proceed with the
construction of the Jansen Rail Spur. Located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, this new track will connect the Joint Access Spur (JAS) north of the Village of Jansen to the CN Watrous Subdivision east of the Town of Nokomis, Saskatchewan. This 47 km long spur will facilitate the movement of potash from the BHP Jansen mine to international markets through a west coast port in British Columbia. The project will bring significant economic value to neighbouring communities.
