Hold Codes
What is this?
When a shipment is unable to continue moving, a condition is reported.
The hold reason code is displayed in the TRAIN/BO/HLD column in the Location
and ETA output formats.
In the Equipment or Reference output view, a red exclamation mark will
appear next to the Equipment ID if there is a delay. The reason for delay
will appear if you hold your mouse over the red exclamation mark.
When is it used?
The primary causes of a hold condition are:
- insufficient information to move the shipment to destination
- held at customer's request, either from the shipper or the receiver
- a railway caused condition
If you believe the hold condition to be incorrect you should contact
a Customer Support Representative.
